About the name
Shardelois Estate England/Shardelois Cocker Kennel
Estate
Shardeloes is a large 18th-century country house located one mile west of Amersham in Buckinghamshire, England. In 1939, Shardeloes Mansion, Amersham, home of the Tyrwhitt-Drakes, was requisitioned as a maternity hospital where over 5000 babies were born
Lt.-Cdr. Frederick Edward Hicks-Beach was born on December 30, 1911.1. He was the son of Michael Hicks-Beach, 1st Earl of St Aldwyn, PC, DL (October 23, 1837 - April 30, 1916), and Helene Des Fosses. He married, secondly, Lois Lainhart.
Modern Day
Lt.-Cdr. Hicks-Beach's name was used in naming the Shardeloes American Cocker Kennel with Lois Washington Lainhart Hicks-Beach. Lois introduced the creator to needlework and the raising of American Cocker Spaniels, a passion she maintained until her death. Cathy continued the needlework she was taught.
2024
In 2024, Cathy and Chic Geisinger chose to take Cathy's love of crochet and start a custom crochet work. That she hopes you will love her work as much as she enjoys doing custom pieces.
